Chemical Peels

Want to banish sun damage? Eliminate acne? Smooth over fine lines and wrinkles? A chemical peel could be the perfect option for you!

By removing layers of damaged skin, you can eliminate skin problems and get a fresh look. From quick and painless superficial peels to deep peels that’ll take years off your skin, chemical peels are an ideal option for both men and women with a wide range of skin issues.

Benefits of a Chemical Peel

After a peel, your skin will be visually rejuvenated and have an improved texture. In addition to making you look younger and giving you an all around fresh look, chemical peels can tackle the following issues:

  • Reduce acne scars and redness
  • Eliminate fine lines and wrinkles
  • Even out skin with pigmentation issues
  • Diminish sun damage
  • Gloss over the irritation and redness of rosacea
  • Remove freckles
  • Get rid of brown spots

What to Expect from a Chemical Peel

Skin peels work by removing dead cells in layers of the skin. This process stimulates the cellular turnover, which causes growth and skin renewal. By eliminating damaged skin and revealing the fresh layers underneath, a chemical peel is an incredibly effective way to turn back the clock.

Chemical peels gently stimulate collagen production and increases your skin’s natural moisture factor. Peels also highly increase the skin’s receptiveness to other non-surgical treatments and medical grade skin care products.

Anti-ageing peels uses active ingredients like encapsulated Vitamin A, Vitamin C, L-Ascorbic Acid, and other vital nutrients to ensure that the new layer of skin is an ideal condition.

The Types of Chemical Peels

At the Medispa Institute in Dee Why, we offer a wide variety of skin peels options. These peels are classified as superficial, medium, and deep. The categories relate to the depth of the skin being peeled.

Superficial Peels

This type of peel removes only the very top layer of skin. This painless procedure is done without anaesthesia. Following the procedure, you skin will peel after around four to five days. This will make your face look fresher but it won’t remove fine lines, freckles, or sunspots. For optimal results, superficial peels are recommended to be done a series of sessions.

Medium Peels

The next level of skin peels, a medium peel can tackle freckles, discolouration, sun damage, and fine lines. This type of procedure is typically done with with an analgesia. Following the procedure, you may feel some irritation, similar to a mild sunburn, but no pain. Your skin will peel one week later and a fresh layer of skin will be revealed.

Deep Peels

The most intensive option, a deep peel will penetrate numerous layers of skin. This is done under general aesthetic and involves a healing process of one week to ten days. Due to the intensity of this peel, it will provide you with the most dramatic results.

Who Is Suitable for a Chemical Peel?

Superficial skin peels are suitable for the majority of skin types. Medium to deep chemical peels are best suited for fair skin. Individuals with darker skin are more apt to having hyperpigmentation after their peels.

How Long Will the Results Lasts?

This longevity of the results varies. The more that you protect your skin from the sun, the longer the results will last. When you visit our Dee Why clinic, our dermal therapist will create a customised treatment plan for you that will help you maintain beautiful skin for years to come.
