Laser Resurfacing

At Medispa Institute we offer the YouLaser MT by Quanta which is the first and only laser, due to the proprietary Mixed Technology, which combines the 10,600 nm and 1,540 nm wavelengths in a sequential or simultaneous fractional emission. These two wavelengths emitted together maximize the advantages of each laser, improving the results in just one session.

Due to the Mixed Technology of the YouLaser MT it overcomes the limitations of both traditional ablative and non-ablative – CO2 and GaAs lasers by allowing the practitioner to work separately or in an exclusive Mixed Modality setting to offer the best treatment to each patient by finding the right balance between results and down-time.

The YouLaser MT is commonly used to treat;

  • Wrinkles and fine lines
  • Uneven skin tone
  • Age spots and pigmentation
  • Sun damage
  • Acne scarring
  • Surgical or traumatic scars

The Laser Resurfacing Procedure?

YouLaser MT

On the day of your treatment, we will apply a topical anaesthetic for maximum comfort. We use the Zimmer Cryo 6 cooling system, before, during and after the laser application. This system cools the skin gently during laser and dermatological treatments, without interfering with the effectiveness of the laser. It also extracts the heat from the treatment area, thereby minimising any localised swelling and improving the recovery time. The feeling is best described as a prickly heated sensation with minimal discomfort. The laser treatment produces thousands of microscopic treatment zones in your skin. This penetrates deep into the dermis and eliminates targeted, damaged epithelial cells while leaving the untargeted cells intact and unaffected. This type of fractional treatment allows much faster healing and makes better use of the body’s natural healing processes.

For the first few days, your skin may take on a bronzed appearance. Exfoliation will take place as new radiant skin evolves. Patients report the effect as feeling like a sunburn. New skin develops quickly, and should be protected with plenty of moisturizer and sunscreen during the healing phase. In the weeks and months following your session, the body will repair the deeper dermal tissues and your appearance will continue to improve with the ongoing renewal process.

Although many patients can see a difference after just a single session, others may choose another treatment after 6 – 12 months to boast the effect. Depending on the health of your skin this can be supplemented by our range of dermal therapies and could be repeated every few (3-5 years) to maintain its rejuvenated effects.

What Are The Costs For Laser Resurfacing?

The costs for laser resurfacing vary depending on which areas are to be treated and whether it is combined with other treatments. Treatment includes a take home post laser care pack to help your skin heal optimally over the first few weeks

  • Full face $2,500
  • Full face + neck $3,250
  • Cheeks $1,250
  • Perioral $1,000
  • Scars $250 – $750

A Word of Warning: It is confusing for clients to determine the value of laser resurfacing marketed on the internet, due to the vast number of laser machines available. Some are excellent with proven clinical data on results and safety, which others are cheap alternatives that don’t live up to their claims. At the Medispa Institute we only offer effective and evidence based treatments.
